Today I went to the Roxy Quicksilver store in Soho to look for a bathing suit to bring to Tennessee but ended up with something called "Board Shorts" instead. First of all it was bizarre being in a surf shop in the middle of Soho. Actually, it seemed like a cross between a Sanrio store and a surf shop. So then I'm looking at this rack of shorts and ask the surfer dude working there if these are bathing suits and he says "yeah, they're board shorts." I take this to mean yes, but that they are actually used for surfing. They have this little plastic comb thing attached to the back with a bungy-like cord and a tiny velcro pocket you can put the little comb in. I have no idea what it is for.
