Last night as part of The New Yorker Festival George and I attended "An Evening with Lorne Michaels and Cast Members of Saturday Night Live" at the SNL set at NBC Studios. The cast members were Tina Fey, Daryl Hammond, and Maya Rudolph. I'm so glad Tina Fey was there; she is my idol! Apparently Weekend Update does not get written until Friday night! She has her assistant watch Letterman, Leno, etc all week to make sure Weekend Update does not do any of the same jokes. The moderator asked Daryl Hammond what it was like to do his Clinton imitation while Monica Lewinsky was the guest host, and he said: "Well, I'll never have to do acid."
