My biggest musical regrets of high school ('89-'92):
1. Not going to see My Bloody Valentine in Boston. I remember calling Kerry in a frenzy, with The Phoenix open in front of me, telling her they were playing, but at the same time saying I couldn't go because I had to watch my younger sisters. I don't even remember where my parents where that night. Oh god, I get sick just thinking about it...
2. Going to see The Ocean Blue at Colby College in Colby, Maine, over seeing Slowdive in Boston. I rarely admit this to anyone. Kerry was trying desperately to persuade Eric and I to see Slowdive, but we wouldn't budge. Oh man, what was I thinking??? Ocean Blue were darling, of course, but Slowdive...? I mean, talk about once in a lifetime. I'm furious at myself to this day...
3.Missing the Depeche Mode "Violator" tour w/ Nitzer Ebb because I was grounded for being picked up by the cops in the cemetary drunk. Verdict: Not Worth It.
4. Missing the MTV premiere of the "Fascination Street" video becasue for the one time in my entire life my dad forced me to go to bed. Total trauma. Ultimately, not a big deal because the video sucks.
5. Not saving my taped episodes of "120 Minutes." If anyone can tell me where I can see the vide of the Swans cover of "Love will tear us apart," I will be forever indebted.
