Thanks for the encouragement in the guestbook, folks.

Ok, well, one of the other events I attended during the New Yorker Festival (see link below) was called "My Day Job" and it was a discussion with Salma Hayek, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Matt Dillon, and Tim Blake Nelson about being actors as well as writers/directors. I was lucky enough to sit in the front row so I had a bird's eye view of everybody. I'm still in awe of how beautiful Salma Hayek is!!! She is absolutely stunning. She looked just like she had stepped out of a magazine or off a movie screen. I couldn't stop staring at her. They showed a short clip from Frida, and unfortunately I wasn't that impressed. But it was a really short clip so I still have hope (I am particularly interested to see Ashley Judd's portrayal of Tina Modotti). Jennifer Jason Leigh provided an interesting anecdote about "The Anniversary Party:" she was telling her agent about the idea for the movie over the phone, and her agent was encouraging about it. Then, when her agent thought Jennifer had hung up the phone, but she hadn't, Jennifer heard her say "Good luck, 'cause it's never gonna happen." Needless to say, the woman is not her agent anymore.

I just made macaroni and cheese and it came out pretty good, so here is my modified recipe (it's originally from the Food and Wine website:

Cook a 12oz box of elbow macaroni. While it's cooking, grate a whole brick of cheddar cheese ( I used Cabot 50% Light, which made it a bit rubbery but my flabby thighs are thanking me). Drain pasta and return to pot. Add the cheese, some butter, 1Tbs. of Dijon mustard (this made all the difference) and black pepper to taste. You may need to keep the heat on very low to let it all melt together. YUM! And you should have some left over to bring to work the next day for lunch and eat it again for dinner the next night.

I got tickets to see The Tindersticks at St. Anne's Warehouse in Brooklyn. They are playing with a string orchestra. I'm quite excited. Although, the show is on a Sunday and the Friday before I am going to see Underworld, so hopefully I will be recovered in time to see Tindersticks.

My debut as spokesmodel for Corporate Logo should be hitting newstands this week in The Onion. I'm not sure if their ads are the same all over the country, but look for it anyway!
