Saw Laurel Canyon today and really liked it. Good soundtrack. Lou Barlow is in it; it's pretty funny to see him on screen. Him and Folk Implosion play the band of one of the main characters. Sleater-Kinney is thanked in the credits...I wonder what they did.
Strolling around after the movie my coat sleeve and mitten brushed against a little girl's ice cream cone, which I had no idea this even happend until I heard a woman frantically calling "Miss! Miss!" I don't know why I even turned around, but I did and she pointed out the vanilla with sprinkles on my mitten and began apologizing profusely while rooting around in her bag for napkins or something. I said it was ok and it didn't matter, and I actually thanked her for bothering to stop and point it out. She gave me a wet-wipe-type thing and I wiped the ice cream off. The little girl just stood there looking kind of confused, like she didn't know if she was in trouble or not.
A bunch of girl scouts were selling cookies at University Place and 14th St. today. One girl actually stood on the corner shouting "Girl Scout cookies! Today only! Girl Scout cookies!" These city scouts really work for that cookie badge; I just gave my dad my order form and had him bring it to work.
