I know in my guestbook I said I had a rant all ready about Good Charlotte, but I lost the fire. I got so riled up watching them on Saturday Night Live a few weekends ago; I couldn't believe yet another pop punk band that looks and sounds just like every other pop punk band in the last five years had yet again made it big. In the "Bio" section of their website they mention how one of their songs comes straight from the "Clash Handbook." I liken this to Avril Lavigne misprouncing "Bowie." I mean, these kids are just shooting themselves in the foot. They have no one but themselves to blame for their bad raps, people calling them "poseurs" or whatnot. "Clash Handbook"? It's so pathetically laughable you feel sorry for them.
The only thing that really bugged me about Seattle was the way, say a party of five will each pay with a separate credit card. This is just like asking for five separate checks, which I think is totally rude. There is nothing in it for the waitperson to do all this extra work, swiping five cards, bringing five pens to the table, getting five signatures. It's ridiculous! I don't know how or why something like this would ever come into being. Anyone know? It just seems like people do it because they can, not because it's any easier, saves money, etc. There just seemed to be no rational reason for doing it.
