Went to see Larry Clark's installation "Punk Picasso" on Saturday. It was ok; there were a bunch of newspaper clippings and other ephemera just stuck in frames, which wasn't too interesting, but the photo's from "Kids" were pretty neat. He also had one whole wall of River Phoenix images blown up from teenybopper mags. And the 1950's-era photos of people shooting up heroin were interesting, in a car-wreck kind of way.

Sunday we went to the Guggenheim for the "Kazimir Malevich: Suprematism" show, the whole experience of which was slightly ruined by the Matthew Barney "Cremaster Cycle" blaring in the main exhibition hall, this giant spectacle of props and videos and sounds that tie-in to the five "Cremaster" films. It was totally obnoxious and distracting.

Rented The Grey Zone. I recommend this if you feel like being totally depressed for hours afterward. It was good though; Natasha Lyonne was great; I wish her character had had more than 5 minutes of screen time. David Arquette was good too, although I couldn't get the poster for "Eight Legged Freaks" out of my mind, so that was a little distracting.
