I think the giant, empty sidewalks in Manchester need to be transplanted with the tiny, cramped ones in Manhattan. George and I walked down Elm Street to get pizza tonight, and I felt like we were breaking the law. Nobody walks. The only time anyone walks or rides a bike anywhere is if their license is revoked for DWI. We went to Pappy's; as usual when I go out to eat in NH now I am stunned by the cheap prices. $2.95 for a glass of wine? Wow. I think our large pizza was only $10. Hamburgers for $3.95! It's like the 1950's around here!
