My classes are held across the street from Bryant Park, home of Fashion Week, so last night after class I walked over to the giant white tents with music pumping out of them and watched the end of the Tommy Hilfiger show which was being projected on a giant movie screen outside. Models are larger than life anyway, so to see them live on a giant movie screen was otherworldly. It was pretty mesmerizing. There were a bunch of other people standing around watching too. I could see Alan Cumming in the audience, but that was only person I recognized. This morning on Whipple's World, George Whipple happened to interview Tommy Hilfiger, and he said the collection was inspired by "Nantucket and Rock and Roll" and a bunch of other stuff I forget. That made me laugh though; Nantucket and Rock and Roll? Whatever. I like that George Whipple's eyebrows move up and down on his webpage (scroll down on the Whipple's World link).
