Paul Krugman on the Bush administration's exploitation of 9/11, plus his grim prediction that the 2004 election may be "the nastiest of modern American history."

David Letterman weighed in on the whole Snapple thing. What he wants to know is: "What happened to gin in a paper bag?"

The Snapple controversy took an interesting turn for me today when my company's weekly newsletter announced that our cafeteria will be hosting a "Snapple Element Tasting" on Sept. 18. I have no idea what this means. Maybe "Element" is a new flavor or something? Between this tasting, and the Snapple ad in the PATH train, I'm starting to think that maybe it's New Jersey that is trying to brainwash people about Snapple, and maybe the New Jersey Snapple Brainwashers got ahold of Bloomberg. Who knows. I'm not backpedaling on my stance that the official drink thing is not a bad idea, however.
