Regarding the below post, I find that naming Snapple the official beverage of NYC a benign and inoffensive way to raise money for a fiscally struggling city and it's school system. Bloomberg, ever the business man, has run this city like a business from day one, and I think that is exactly the type of leadership this city needs right now. As he points out in the article, the bridge of having vending machines in schools has long ago been crossed, and it seems unrealistic to think it will be uncrossed (uh, yeah, you know what I mean). Anyway, in that case, why not make it a situation where not only the school but the city as well can benefit? I remember Bow Memorial having a Very Fine juice vending machine, and I don't feel brainwashed or anything by it. I don't drink lots of sugary sodas and juice now. I mostly drink water. So I don't think it's a negetive thing. I think it's a practical businessperson's approach to trying to do the best for the city, which I truly believe is his intent, rather than sneaky political lip service or something.
