Ok, I'm so not on hiatus. Just posting sporadically.
Anyway, tonight we had dinner had Benny's Burritos and treated ourselves to their "grande margarita," the name of which is totally deserved: it's a half carafe EACH of margarita! All I can say is, thank God Flight 001 across the street was closed when we were done, as the Grande Margarita has a way of convincing you that $50 for a cute little mesh zip pouch is reasonable.
So we headed over to Chocolate Bar instead. I love going there because there are always some bored little indie rockers working there, moping around with their emo playing making cappucinos. They are fun to talk to, I guess because they remind me of me when I was 23 shlepping coffee and chocolates. Ah, the good 'ole days of Harbor Treats in Portsmouth. I used to get there at 5am, Shellac blaring as I hoisted the pink and blue and green ice cream cone flag outside and waited for the first customers of the day, the "muffin lady" and her dirty old man husband.
Anway, tonight at Chocolate Bar we got into a conversation with the skinny 20-year-old incarnation of Mike Glumac (If anyone knows where that kid is, please direct him to the Mannequin). I had a "small spicy," which is their spicy hot chocolate made with ground up chili peppers. It's so delicious. I also had a salted caramel, which sounds gross, but holey moley - delicious! I took Kerry here when she was visiting and she wanted a "chocolate girl" t-shirt but decided against it because she thought it sounded dirty or weird or whatever, which cracked me up.
