Happy New Year!

Went out for an early dinner last night, home by 10pm to watch Times Square on TV. We could see the Statue of Liberty fireworks outside our window, which was cool. We watched the festivities on NY1 with our favorite newscaster Paul Lombardi. We were roaring when Paul said "I'm here with some hot-blooded servicemen..." We were like "did he really say hot-blooded?" Ha! Go Paul!

Reading:

A Mouthful of Air by Amy Koppelman. Not thrilled with it, but I'm still reading it 70-pages in, so it must be doing something right.

Some of the Parts by T Cooper. From GVSB's Johnny Temple's imprint Akashic Books. It sounds lame to call something "unique," but it's the first word that comes to mind with this book. Some of the characters are so totally annoying I didn't think I could finish it, but the story line(s) have been compelling enough to make me want to see it through.

Abandoned:

The Quality of Life Report by Meghan Daum. Awful. Terrible. Don't be fooled: This is chik-lit. Not what I was expecting from the author of My Misspent Youth, which was ten times smarter and funnier than this piece of crap.

I guess today we'll take down the Christmas tree, which was demolished by the cat three weeks ago anyway. There is a cat-sized hole in the side of it as Bob discovered how to launch herself into the tree, tear off the ornaments and use them as a cat toys. There are only about five ornaments left on the tree and it's all lopsided from being assaulted each night.
