Went to the Bronx Museum on Thursday for the opening of the "Subway Series" exhibit. Our friend Michael has a few photos in it. I don't know much about baseball, or Yankees history, so it was kind of cool to learn about Murders' Row and see all their baseball bats. There was a really funny painting of Reggie Jackson's head floating over the 4 train with Yankee Statdium behind it. Actually, it was pretty terrible! There was a room in the basement where you could get wine or beer, but you had to stay in that room and drink it! They had a DJ set up and baskets of pretzels on tables with paper table clothes. It felt like being at a community center spaghetti dinner or something. But it was fun, and seeing Yankee Stadium for the first time was really cool too.
Well, I finally caved in and got a cell phone. At last, I can text message my requests directly to TRL! I'm not sure how much I will end up using this thing; probably for brief conversations akin to "Where are you? I said 7th and A, not 5th and A!!" And I promise not to be one of those people who grocery shop with someone on their cell phone: "Well, they have bok choy...no, I don't see baby bok choy....no, no broccoli rabe....I don't know let me look....yeah, they have it. How many do you think...." blah blah blah.
Saw Bourne Supremecy today. Matt Damon totally rules. He is amazing, and I just really like the Jason Bourne/David Webb character. The big car chase wasn't as good as the one in the Bourne Identity, but oh well. I'm glad he was still alive at the end; hopefully there will be more Bourne movies. I kind of want to read the Bourne books now.
Oh, and remember how I was raving about that cute little song Julie Delpy sings in Before Sunset? Well, I finally got the soundtrack and it doesn't sound as good. They added some little keyboard-sounding stuff to it and it sounded so much better just her singing it with her guitar. I think I was also really caught up in the moment of the movie, so that probably added to my freaking out over it. But the other two songs she sings on it are pretty cute, and I like the harpsichord music too, so it wasn't a total waste.
