Jersey City still without a Mayor. For God's sake - get it together! Let Healy get to work on that "blight!" Hopefully he's referring to razing the Newport Mall.
Once the presidential motorcade had raced safely beyond the barricades into the invitation only area where the general public was not permitted...the president had gotten out of the car and waved. Later, other newspapers confirmed the staging and filled in the details: He only strolled for a moment, they reported; just long enough for an Associated Press photographer to get the picture. Then he got back in his car. In the [New York]Times, however, neither the caption of the photo nor the text of the very lengthy article it illustrated reported those circumstances. Instead, in paragraph 49 of the 50-paragraph article, it was reported, fleetingly and inaccurately, that the new president had gotten out of his limousine after it "had passed most of the protesters." In fact, of course, he had passed all of the protesters and was no longer in public, but virtually in his own living room.
