As soon as my semester ended I promptly came down with a cold, and have been hacking up green globs, coughing, and blowing my nose for two weeks now. I think it's on its way out finally, thank God. It doubly sucks being sick in the summer. Congestion + humidity = total suffocation.

I wasn't so sick that I couldn't splash around in my mom's pool and sit in the sun for a few days, however. That was a nice respite, and I even got some color on my deathly pale skin, with a little help from Jergens Natural Glow. It says you don't get results for a week, but I feel like it was working after two days. I guess when you have white skin anything will show up on it. And I spritzed some Sun-In in my hair as well. It actually worked! Made some reddish highlights in my brown hair. Fascinating, I know.

The Bush Administration is slowly replacing the phrase "War on Terror" with "a global struggle against violent extremism." Sneaky bastards! How do they get away with EVERYTHING?!?

NPR had a story today about a dentist who treats prisoners that have rotted their teeth out with methamphetamine. He calls it "meth mouth" and there is a brief summary and picture here. WARNING: the picture is seriously GROSS.
