Well, looks like I'm going to abandon Founding Brothers. Bummer. Although, I think this is a book worth buying and having on the shelf to pick up on a rainy day. But right now it's not keeping my attention.

I got to page 14 of Objection! by Nancy Grace, and realized this was going to get the boot too, and here's the paragraph that sealed the deal (she's writing about a murdered girl named Samantha Runnion):

Trials are the culmination of months, sometimes years, of pain and anguish. The unfinished business of justice looms, and finally the trial begins. To have the truth-seeking process boiled down to a game of wits between two sets of lawyers is almost more than crime victims and their families can bear. Ask Samantha Runnion. I'm sure she'll agree. But you'll have to wait a while. You can meet her only in Heaven.

Good Gravy.

I think I need a break from nonfiction for awhile, so I picked up Cowboys Are My Weakness by Pam Houston. I read "The Best Girlfriend You Never Had" in The Best American Short Stories of the Century last night, and I cried. When my fiction break is over I want to try Bound for Canaan. Any suggestions for books on early American history?
