The countdown to a NYC transit strike continues. It's all anyone can talk about at work (besides getting bird flu). We got a memo today outlining all the different ways to get to work if it happens. Luckily I live in JC, and the strike will not be affecting the PATH, so I don't have to worry about walking over the Brooklyn Bridge in 20 degree weather on Friday. Although, a strike will pretty much eliminate my going to Brooklyn and seeing G and having Christmas with him before we go see our own families for the holiday. Crap! So they better work something out, quick!

WNYC had a great audio montage this morning of "man on the street" interviews about the strike. I love the guy who says "Anybody who agreed to allow the subway system to have a contract expire in December needs their head examined," and then goes on to say it should have at least expired when it was warm out so people could walk to work. If that's not a New York mindset I don't know what is. The best part of the montage was they played "Train in Vain" by The Clash at the end. Ha!
