While browsing through Bigelow's on Friday I came across something called Breath Palette, which are these little toothpastes from Japan in all sorts of weird flavors, like Indian curry, lemon tea, and blueberry. I knew I couldn't leave without one, and finally settled on "Freshness Yogurt." Well, they don't lie...it really tastes like yogurt! And it actually wasn't bad! Didn't get all foamy and sickly sweet like "normal" toothpaste, and my mouth did feel clean! At nearly $5 a pop for under an ounce, these won't become a staple in my medicine cabinet, but I can't resist treating myself to a couple more, probably white peach and cafe au lait. These would make good gifties, too.
Last night we went to a surprise birthday party at one of those cheesy velvet-rope bars in midtown, full of goombas and televisions, where it feels like one "wrong" look at somebody's girlfriend will get your head kicked in. One wall was projecting a football game, the other wall was a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue "behind the scenes" documentary, and a teeny-tiny tv at the end of the bar had on VH1 Classics, which is where I parked myself. We stayed for a couple hours until the decibal level reached ear-shattering and then we just had to leave.
The end of Blueroom has me once again (like I do about twice a year) contemplating if I should pull the plug on Mannequin. I've been posting on Mannequin for nearly four years now! I spend way too much time online as it is. I want to read more books. And I know this year is going to be really busy: working full-time, taking two classes through August and then writing my thesis this fall. On top of that will also be trying to prepare for the LSAT.
So...I don't know. We'll see how this first semester shapes up. Anyway, if my posting is sporadic, you'll know why!
