Sick day from work today. Scratchy throat, watery eyes, runny nose, general malaise. It's that time of year. Blah. This means no "Scary-oke" at Lido Bar tonight. Waahh.

Despite my semi-infirm state I did manage to install a new deadbolt to our front door this morning. The previous one failed us, locking my roommate out one night which of course resulted in your garden variety total rip-off for "emergency service" from a locksmith. As my coworker said, "Pretty much any service after 4pm is 'emergency.'" Jerks. No drilling or measuring required, thank god, just pop the thing in, a few turns of the screwdriver, and voila. I had originally enlisted a coworker to come over and do it, but after opening the lock up and playing around with it, I realized it wasn't that difficult so I gave it a whirl. Let's hope I put the damn thing in correctly! Nothing is wiggling around and it locks and unlocks just fine, so I think I'm all set.

It's going to be horrible out tomorrow, real windy and rainy, so a perfect day to hunker down with a pack of Chloraseptic throat lozenges and finish my powerpoint for my final presentation on Nov. 7.
