I picked up a copy of French Women For All Seasons at Coliseum Books. All their inventory is 20%-50% off since they are going out of business, so I felt it was my duty to help this wonderful independent bookstore to pay off their debts by indulging in a hardcover. I managed to put down The World is Flat and War and Peace and step away from the bookshelf.
Desperate undereye situations call for desperate measures, which led me to drop twenty fricken dollars on some RoC eye cream. Maybe it's all in my head, but I think it's actually working! Or I could be just telling myself that because everytime I put it on I see a match being taken to a $20 bill.
The spending spree continued with Issues No. 5 and 6 of Local, and a copy of The 9/11 Report: A Graphic Adaptation. I've been eyeing this for months and finally gave in. I bought this stuff at Rocketship, so I was able to assuage my guilt a little with the knowledge I was supporting an independent bookshop.
