I finally got the courage to have my make-up done at one of the cosmetics counters at Macy's. Not like this is some huge feat of bravery, but I've always been too bashful to do it in the middle of the mall with tons of shoppers walking around. G was begging me to go to the M.A.C counter, but considering the M.A.C lady's makeup looked like a cross between RuPaul and Bozo, there was no way. I chose the more staid Clinique counter, and everything was going smoothly until she drew thick, brown lines on my upper lash lines that looked like skid marks. I did finally learn that when you buy those duo eyeshadows the lighter color goes on your lids and the darker color goes in the crease and on the corners. I also learned that I will never be one of those women who undertakes a 5-step eye make-up application each morning.
