I'm sick. Waaah. I should have stayed home Friday with my scratchy throat, but no, I dragged myself to the subway through the torrential rain that hit New York yesterday morning. What an 'effin nightmare. My umbrella broke, my pants were soaking wet, and the subway was all fogged up and steamy - a total germ incubator. I expected to see the rats swimming down the subway tracks wearing water-wings.

The subway goes totally bananas when it rains. Not a comforting thought considering all the other things that could possibly bring down the subway that are much worse. All PATH service in and out of Manhattan was suspended for awhile, and according to my co-worker who got caught up in the mess, the PATH stations were complete pandemonium with people waiting for trains and cops trying to keep order. Luckily I missed that.

After the shitty commute I left work at noon anyway as I could feel myself getting worse. Now my nose is all drippy and I'm sitting around with my crosswords and Emergen-C (thanks Stacey!) trying to feel better, as my mom and sister are coming into town tomorrow! I'm very excited. Must get better! Ah-choo...
