My co-workers and I headed across the street after work today for a pint, and I ended up taking home this souvenir:


This is exciting for a trademark nerd like me, because the red Bass triangle is Britain's first registered trademark and one of the very first examples of product branding.


At first I thought the fanciful red base of the glass was tacky, but when I realized it was mimicking the red triangle logo, well, then I was really excited! The waitress must have seen me admiring the glass because she asked if I wanted it and I said yes, so she took it from me, washed it off, gave it back, and said not to tell anyone. Thanks nice waitress lady!
