Even the much-discussed pregnancy of 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears reveals the rudely unfair toll that a few minutes of pleasure can exact on a girl. The very fact that the gossip magazines are still debating the identity of the father proves again that the burden of sex is the woman’s to bear. He has a chance to maintain his privacy, but if she becomes pregnant by mistake, soon all the world will know.

Feminist ranting, bla bla bla. Women get pregnant, men don't. That's how the world works. What is she proposing as an alternative? Out those bad bad men! Britney's sister is following in her footsteps. Who is the blame? I can't think of anyone.
She's saying it is emotionally and physically harder on a teenage girl who becomes pregnant rather than the teenage boy who gets her pregnant. It is impossible for them to deal with the situation privately, whereas a guy can keep it completely secret that he got someone pregnant. Of course this is obvious, but the whole Jamie Lynn Spears thing has just highlighted the fact once again. If there is any alternative to propose, perhaps its to let teenage girls deal with their pregnancies in private like the teenage fathers get to.
