Last night I had to chew. I simply had to chew! I bought two boxes of Amy's Macaroni and Cheese (one cheese, one "soycheez") and half chewed, half slurped them down. It was a disgusting spectacle which I am thankful nobody witnessed. My stiches are no longer hanging down the back of my mouth, but it hurts to laugh for some reason, so watching "Seinfeld" last night was a big mistake. I though my gums were going to burst open. It was so funny though! Elaine and Jerry are flying and Jerry is in first-class and Elaine is in coach. Jim J. Bullock was the flight attendant!
My summer reading list is beginning to take shape. I'm very excited to read Hilary Clinton's new book Living History. This history of Heavy Metal looks pretty good too. And I'm psyched that NY Times food writer Amanda Hesser has collected her "Food Diary" columns in a book, "Cooking for Mr. Latte." I always enjoyed reading these columns in the Magazine on Sunday. It felt like a guilty pleasure; they are a bit fluffy. But I got caught up in the story, of her courtship with "Mr. Latte," (who is Tad Friend, a writer for The New Yorker), and their eventual marriage.
In other news, I've been accepted to NYU for their MS in Publishing program for the fall. I'm quite excited!
OH, and almost as exciting: we got a permission request from MR. WIZARD yesterday! He has a lightning bolt on his letterhead! He's writing a book called "My Life as Mr. Wizard."!
