I had tears in my eyes reading McGreevey's speech. How could a person not feel any sadness, or sympathy, for this man? You'd need a heart of stone. This really got me:

It makes little difference that as governor I am gay. In fact, having the ability to truthfully set forth my identity might have enabled me to be more forthright in fulfilling and discharging my constitutional obligations.

But instead he's been made to feel he's had to hide his identity his whole life. It really just makes me want to weep for the sickening society we live in that creates these situations.
