Male Mannequin Reading List
The Authentic Bistros of Paris by Francois Thomazeau and Sylvain Ageorges. I was totally smitten with Paris when G and I went in March, and nary a week goes by that I don't daydream about a return trip. I'm thinking of taking a French class from FIAF in 2007, after I finish my never-ending Masters program...
A Crime of Self-Defense: Bernard Goetz and the Law on Trial by George P. Fletcher. I've always been fascinated by this incident, in part because Goetz turned himself in in Concord, NH, my old stompin' ground. Since his days in the headlines he operated a "squirrel infirmary" from his apartment, and is now running for NYC public advocate.
Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata. My old pal Jim put this book on my radar, and it's waiting on reserve for me at the Hoboken Public Library as I type!
Something From the Oven: Reinventing Dinner in 1950's America by Laura Shapiro.
