I'm blue.
This always happens when I come back from seeing G in Providence. I sit on the train back to NY thinking "Two more years of this?" I can't take it.
I'm seriously pondering a move up to Prov. I could use a break from the city. Of course my big concern is what kind of hit my career would take, as Providence is not exactly a hotbed of industry. And I will not commute to Boston or Connecticut. If I move to Providence I am living and working there, which really limits my options, which brings me back to the idea that I shouldn't move. So I'm in this pattern of cyclical thinking which is driving me crazy.
After I confronted the fact I was feeling blue, I decided to head over to Lauren's Raindow for a little positive energy, and discovered that in the month of May we will experience a "blue moon," which is when two full moons occur in the same month - I believe the second full moon, which will happen on May 31, is the "blue" moon. Interesting. So May (my birthday month!) is full of a "heightened energy." I'm going to try and harness this heightened energy somehow to help me as I tackle my moving dilemma.
I know I feel ready for a change, I'm just not sure what form this change will take. Maybe the blue moon will help me figure it out...

you know, I think now would be the time to move. There are jobs out there and you would be surprised at the companies that are looking for IP paralegals (See http://providence.craigslist.org/lgl/318750432.html).
Anyway, I know how intimidating it can be to leave the city and look for employement elsewhere(I am coming on one year or commuting from New Haven to the City).
I wish you luck with this difficult choice.
Thanks for that link - it lead to other good job hunting links. I have two headhunters on the case for me, but it's not happening fast enough. I just saw that Hasbro in Pawtucket needed an IP paralegal like a month a go, dammit. Oh well. Not meant to be. I would be totally cool with moving to RI right now...I need a break from NYC! Although I just saw the biggest wheel of cheese in the world at Grand Central today, which was cool. I didn't find out about it until right before I left work, otherwise I would have emailed you and said "Let's meet at the world's biggest wheel of cheese then get a drink!"
