Pumpkin!!! My favorite! This makes me jones for fall so badly! Especially after yesterday's heat and humidity. I hate how September is such a fake-out like that! You think it's all over and you're ready to take out the air conditioners when you get walloped by classic August weather again.


I spotted this beautiful harbinger of autumn in the Red Hook Community Farm, which is a giant parking lot turned into a giant garden with raised beds and a big composting area. You can see lots more pics here. I guess it's used by kids as a kind of school project thing. The Ikea is going up right next to it. I wonder what effect that will have on the garden...
