(As you can probably tell from reading this, I love to make things that really aren't a story, into a story. So with that in mind...)
Met Wendy and Joel today after work for Happy Hour at El Cantinero to discuss the answers we received from Ian Svenonious to our email interview. You will not be disappointed when this is finally up on Hudson is Solid, I can tell you that much. The Happy Hour buffet, or as Wendy called it, "The Cheese Pile," consisted of a tray of wings and a tray of what I guess was tortillas covered in cheese and salsa-like topping. The sterno was only under the cheese stuff. I don't know why this detail sticks in my mind. It's quite disconcerting to sit in a bar with a disco ball flashing and techno pumping...when you're the only ones there.
After that it was off to Aveda to cash in my postcard for a free birthday "Pure-Fume" spray. There were a bunch of different oils I could pick from and then they would make a "Pure-Fume" spray out of it. So after smelling two of the oils I was sick to my stomach and everything smelled the same. They had a little jar of coffee beans you were supposed to smell after you smelled each oil, to clear your sense of smell or whatever, but it didn't work. Everything smelled like the salon where I get my hair cut, so I just picked tried and true pachouli and sandalwood.
Next, off to meet G after work. We walked over to 9th Ave. where we saw Fox News interviewing a group of people and a bunch of Guardian Angels handing out flyers about a serial rapist.
That was my night!
