Sunday we went to a beach called Sandy Hook, which is part of Gateway National Recreation Area. It was so good to get out of the city and feel the breezy salt air and splash around in the cold water. We were on our way to G's mom's house for dinner, so we didn't stay too long, but apparently there is a ferry from lower Manhattan that goes right to Sandy Hook, so I want to try that out some day. There were some giant spider-like crabs washed up on the beach, and we even saw this mini shark-looking creature. It was pretty neat.
It's so depressing to be driving along, enjoying the greenery, and all of sudden there is a giant clear-cut swath with a CVS rising out of the rubble, or something called a Wa-Wa. I think I need to get one of these however.
