When I got an offer in the mail to transfer a balance to one of those 4.99% APR Capitol One cards, I jumped at the chance. Not until I get the card do I see that, although my APR has plummeted, my minimum payment has skyrocketed. Turns out they require a minimum payment of 3% of your balance, where my previous card only required something like a 1% or 2%. Frig! I called Capitol One to see if they could lower my minimum payment, and the woman said the most they could lower to was to 2% of my balance. So I put in a request for them to do that. I KNEW there had to be a catch, somewhere. So if you're considering one of these cards, keep this in mind.
