Went out for tapas last night at La Paella. It was quite exciting to find a place with a whole section of vegetarian tapas. The lovely young couple next to us, who both looked about 25, were discussing their wedding plans:
HER:You are NOT getting drunk at our wedding! NO shots!
HIM:What's wrong with shots?
Good luck, kids.
These Weight Watchers Recipe Cards from 1974 are hilarious - the captions are even better.
And now some words of wisdom from Dr. Wayne W. Dyer from his book The Power of Intention:
Make an effort to live in cheerful kindness. It's a much higher energy than sadness or malevolence, and it makes the manifestation of your desires possible... Low energy thoughts that weaken us fall in the realm of shame, anger hatred, judgement, and fear. Each of these inner thoughts weakens us and inhibits us from attracting into our lives what we desire. If we become what we think about, and what we think about is what's wrong in the world and how angry and ashamed and fearful we are, it stands to reason that we'll act on those unkind thoughts and become what we're thinking about.
Ok, got that? Think good thoughts! Be positive! Shed your negativity! Ok, pep talk over.
LISTENING: Hood. Well, I will be listening as soon as I buy it.
READING: Article about Bjork in this week's New Yorker. Here the writer describes his trip to Iceland and the Icelandic music scene. Oh, how I want to go to Iceland! I'd really like to catch Icelandairwaves one of these years. Gus Gus are playing this year! Drat!!!
