So it's midsemester once again, and as usual I am finding little to no time/energy to be writing here.
Saw Brian Jonestown Massacre last night at Maxwell's. They sounded fantastic! The set list was amazing, basically all their best old songs, plus a couple new ones which were really good too. The tambourine was conspicuously absent, but they seemed to be cultivating their shoegazer-y side, a direction I wholeheartedly support! The show ended with a blitz of peddles and waves of guitar - awesome. They took nearly a five minute break between songs, which was a bit odd, so the show was stretched to nearly two hours, but it was worth all the waiting around.
I've been on a movie watching blitz recently: Dig!, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, Control Room, and Morvern Callar. Definitely recommend Dig! and Control Room; I'm indifferent about the other two. Next on deck is The Fog of War.
