Snowy Sunday. G and I met friends at Cafe Orlin for brunch, where we got a glimpse of James Iha, whom I've always found a super hottie, although not digging his short platinum doo. Much prefer the long, dark hair. But whatever.

My dish is worth mentioning because it was so delicious and I've never seen anything like it on a menu before: pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon yogurt topping, which I then drizzled with maple syrup and washed down with a glass of champagne. I'm already planning on heading straight back there next Sunday because it was so good and such a perfect way to spend a chilly, slushy Sunday afternoon.

Afterwards G and headed over to Union Square and caught Jesus is Magic. There were only a few moments that made me laugh, and even then they weren't all out belly laughs. But I like Silverman, and there were a couple of music video interludes with her dressed up and singing which I really enjoyed (she has a cool indie-looking back-up band), but overall...eh. Not worth the ticket price, but worth a rental fee, and it's only about 75 minutes long.

After that we strolled through the Union Square holiday bazaar: a bunch of white tents with people selling stuff. It was cold though, a damp cold that was getting into my bones, so I wanted to retreat, and in we went to Heartland Brewery where I had some Old Red Nose Ale. I love seasonal brews! This one tastes like Christmas, but maybe just because I want it to taste like Christmas. Our topic of discussion: what bands lost their lead singer (or other formative member) but managed to soldier on either under the same or a new name? A few answers we came up with: Genesis, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Duran Duran, Guns 'N Roses...G was nailing them but I can't remember the other ones at the moment.

On the way home I impulse bought some dark, shiny red nail polish at Ricky's called "I'm not really a waitress" which as soon as I saw that was the color I was sold!
