My vacation is now winding down, and my end-of-vacation blues is slowly starting to creep in. At least I'm taking the Acela home tomorrow and won't have to spend four hours on a regional.

But enough moping! I've had a great week off! G and I went to Newport Vineyards last Saturday and did a wine tasting and picked up a bottle of the Vintner's Select Pinot Gris. I don't know why it looks pink in this picture - it was the clearest white wine I had ever seen, with just a slight yellowish/greenish hue. Very lovely, and very delicious. I polished that baby off in two days! (G decided he did not like it afterall, so it was all mine!).

The vineyard was also host to the Aquidneck Grower's Market, which was tiny but cool to poke through nonetheless. We picked up some strawberries and lettuce, and some cheese from Farmstead. I think we're going to check out Farmstead's restaurant, La Laiterie, for dinner tonight.

We went up to NH for 4th of July, which was fun (some food pics will be up on Hot Lunch after I get home), and I was able to get some swimming and sunning in by the pool before the clouds and rain rolled in.

Other than that, G and I have just been eating and drinking and relaxing our way through the week. I got a pretty bad soccer mom haircut yesterday, however, which I am trying not get too upset over. I've learned the hard way that layers do not work for me!! Penelope Cruz persuaded me to try Natural Match, and it came out great (thanks G!), so that kind of makes up for the bad haircut (I went with "4N" in case anyone cares! Doubt it!).

I should have an update within the next two weeks on what's going on with me on the job front. Sorry to be so vague, but as you know I tend to be cautious when writing about work on here. I'm really anxious and excited about what's going on, and I'll update as soon as I can. Whatever happens, it will be good news!
