So...hot...
The A/C in my subway car failed this evening. I got on at 42nd, and then all of a sudden at West 4th I realized it had become very stuffy, and then by Delancy it was nearly unbearable. People were wilting before my eyes. Papers and magazines and manila envelopes began to flutter as people tried to cool themselves off. At 2nd Ave there was a mad dash of people who fled into the next car. But I already had a seat, and let me tell you, a subway seat is one precious piece of real estate that even a deathly stuffy subway car would not make me give up. And oh, the irony of the book I was reading while I tried to fan myself with a folded-up list of Providence law firms, my hair frizzed out to all eternity, my skin sticky with a thin film of sweat.
I thought I might try and switch back-and-forth between the big Paris Hilton interview and Top Chef, but the heat has me beat and I've retreated into my air-conditioned bedroom for the evening.
And the PRK is on. First eye gets done on Friday, July 13. I know, I know!! Just send me lots of good energy that day! Hopefully I can blog about it when I get home if the eye doesn't hurt too much.

oo, I hate unairconditioned subway cars...10% of cars on the T have broken A/C...they admit to this fact...
you didn't miss a thing with the PH interview, BTW.
