Crappy week. Mostly work-related, so I can't get into it here.

But last night was fun. A former co-worker of mine came up with a friend to see Jethro Tull at PPAC so I met them at Trinity Brewhouse for some beers before the show. It was great to see him and catch up and hear about all the drama I left behind at my old job. Nothing has changed there, that's for sure! Definitely made the right decision to leave that place.

So after a couple of IPA's I walked over to the theater with them and before I knew it I bought a ticket from some guy on the sidewalk and I had orchestra seats for Tull! Very random, but I needed to put this week behind me and this was the perfect distraction.

First of all, PPAC is gorgeous: all gold and red and shiny. Now I really want to see Liza Minnelli there in January! It would be perfect!

Second of all, the show was like my ideal show from heaven: the band started right at 7:30pm, no opening act, and everyone had a seat that they stayed in. Why can't all shows be like that? They must have wanted to be home in their pajamas for the 11 O'Clock news because they were off the stage by 10:30pm. I'm no Tull fan (I had to ask the guy next to me if that was Tull when these two guys took the stage and he was like, "um, yeah, those are the two main guys!"), but you have to hand it to someone who jams on an amplified flute. It was pretty amazing. They played with a string quartet too, which was beautiful.

Today is the Marche de Noel which should be fun.
